Elizabeth Resker February 12, 2008 After reading, analyzing, and comparing the paper that I wrote and the paper that my partner, Sarah, wrote, I found distinct similarities and differences that were very apparent throughout the entire experience. For two people to experience one event there will almost always be two different subjective ways of viewing what exactly is occurring. The two descriptions are similar beginning with the fact that we both noticed the promptness of the director’s commencement of the rehearsal. Both of our accounts included how the director began exactly at six-thirty, and not a minute later. We both noted how the cast members entered the stage at the director’s call, and stood in their circle to begin warm up exercises. We also both took notice of exactly what the actors and actresses were instructed to do during these exercises, however, only Sarah was able to give an explanation of exactly why the cast members did what they did. Both of us recognized the director’s emphasis on breathing, as well as the expansion of the lungs and spine. As the breathing exercises came to a conclusion, the next phase of warm up began. Both the insider, as well as myself, the observer, were aware of the reason why the cast members were instructed to walk around the stage and connect with other actors and actresses. Initiating movements and repeating lines from the play, helped to establish the relationships between cast members. However, Sarah, also explains how that this
