1 Steve Kaplan MS-101-EM Prof. Edwards 2/10.08 Media Withdrawal Living a day without media is extremely difficult. It requires determination and lots of patience to complete. Media plays a huge role in our daily lives and is a big part of our world. All different types of media like the television, radio, or computer let you know what is going on around the world. Whether we use media for entertainment or for political information, it is all around us and very hard to avoid. For this class we were required to try and live a day without media. That means no television, radio, computer, video games, etc. I completed this task last weekend and it was very difficult for me to do. When I wake up every morning, I turn on my laptop then check my email, facebook, etc. I almost folded and went on the computer but I held back because I thought of the assignment. I was extremely bored at first because I did not know what to do with myself as I could not watch television, play video games, or go on my laptop. I did a little bit of homework and ate a lot of
