Examining Government Regulations Examining Government Regulations Homelessness is an epidemic that has plaqued this country for years. Unfortunately, in the city of Hampton this is a trend that is set to rise over the next 10 years due to drop out rates, and military homelessness. The rules and regulations that are in place to relieve those who find themselves in such a danger zone are subject to not receive as adequate help as they may need. Due to lack of funding and shortage of qualified social services workers, there is a major malfunction in the way that the City of Hampton handles this major issue. With the issue of homelessness within the military community the VA (Veteran Affairs program) has a limited amount of resourcs in which they have in order to help. It is difficult to go through the process in order to be deemed medically incompetent due to being a service member, but according to the VA's regulations they are limited to helping recently separated women veterans (last three years), as well as medically disabled veterans. There is a hotline in place
