The DEMOCRACTIC PARTY PREVENTING THE CONCENTRATION OF POLITICAL POWER THROUGH A SERIES OF CHECKS AND BALANCES
ISSUE ADVOCACY Now from a national level, federal intervention was necessary for African Americans to vote due to conflict between police and peaceful protesters in Selma, Alabama. For starters, this conflict was one of the bloodiest protesters battles in Civil Rights history. Many attempts were made by African Americans to vote but they were always turned away due to it being illegal. But when it comes to Texas, I do feel Texas was part of these activities because in 1923 our Democratic party barred African Americans from voting in any type of elections. But some years later the Supreme Court notified the Texas Democratic
party that they could not ban African Americans from voting, in which, the Democratic party passed a law only allowing whites to vote within the state. During even-numbered years that are not presidential election years. Cities in Texas are dominated by third parties

From my readings, the different types of elections held in Texas are primary, runoff, general and special elections. Primary elections help slim down the number of potential candidates and nominees for a political party and/or office. Next, is a runoff election in which no candidate has 50% of plus one extra vote in a primary election. General election is held at all levels within the state which both parties are usually in competition for office. Last, is the special election which occurs when either state political offices are vacate and there needs to be changes to amendments within our state constitution. Majority Election
This is a good question, I am not too sure about, but I will try to answer it. I think why the political culture of a state is not stagnant is due to the different types of culture it processes. Some people might like a culture that involves everyone as a collective group to make decisions. Or they may want to implement a culture that are built on self-interest and built on professionals only. Lastly, people may want a government culture built on the values of only having government elected officials to the work.
