MUSC 423 27/08/2007 20:31:00 “Hey Joe!” – written by Billy Moses Roberts Quiksilver Messenger Service – Lead Guitarist, Dino Valenti, played “Hey Joe!” in San Francisco David Crosby – Member of The Byrds , Los Angeles band, heard song performed, became first band to record “Hey Joe!” The Leaves – San Fernando Valley band heard The Byrds version and remade the song as well. The Standells – Los Angeles band, next to remake “Hey Joe!”
