Peti Pa: Composer Most classical work in European culture. Movement phrases. Clarity of form. No percussion. Greeks/Romans started ballet-classical civilization. Enlightenment: rationality/reason are the main tools for understanding the world, not religion. Clarity of form is important in classicism. You can see their body shapes clearly in space. Repetition adds to clarity because you can see it over and over again. Simplicity of movements. 2 types: 1. Shapes in space: how clear are the movements in space? 2. Choreographic: How do the movements develop through time? Plato saw a lot of flaws in the world. Wrote The Republic . The world we see is a flawed reflection of a perfect world [realm of higher forms]. There is one tree in the realm and it possesses all the traits of all the trees
