Select one of the more common statistical tests used in nursing research. State which statistic you selected. What level of measurement is required for using your selected statistical test? Provide an example of how your selected statistical test could be used in a nursing research study. A common statistical test used in nursing research is the t-test. The t-test was developed by William S. Gosset with the help for two mathematicians according to Jankowski et al. (2018). The t-test is one of the most frequent used statistical test in research (Jankowski et al., 2018). Polit and Beck (2018) wrote that the t-test is used to find the difference between two comparison groups. In other words, the t-test is used to compare two samples on the same measurement (Jankowski et al., 2018). The level of measurement for the t-test is a nominal measurement. A nominal measurement is one that categorize the comparison groups by numbers (Polit &Beck, 2018). For example, gender or based on interventions. The t-test is easy to use and to calculate (Jankowski et al., 2018). Calculating the statistics from the t-test uses group of means, variables, • • •
