Discussion:Phase One:The movements within a burpee have various movement sections that utilize the fullbody. The first phase is to jump up into the air. During this phase the ankles, knees, and hips arethe main driver. However, other joints have “small” roles during this phase. The ankles joints areused to bend your foot when jumping, and then supports the foot for impact.The knee jointbends your legs to enable the upward jumping movement. When landing the knees are used toact as cushion to support your legs for impact similar to how the ankle supports the foot. Thehips are really involved during this phase as theyflex and bend your thighs for stabilization asyour body jumps into the air.Some other areas of the body that are used are the shoulders andwrist. They both flex when the arms move back and forth to help with the momentum of thejump.Phase Two:Phase two of the movement is the squatting phase. The body goes down into a swattingposition with the hand flat on the ground. During this phase there are a few joints/muscles beingused.The hip joint and hip muscles are a primary focus of the squat.
