Unformatted text preview: Jaclynn Hilligoss ASTR 100 Section 0203 1) Causes of Seasons: Seasons are caused by Earths tilted axis. Because of this the suns path changes throughout the year. During the summer the Earths tilt is toward the sun and during the winter the axis is tilted away from the sun. The distances away from the Sun during these times are almost equal due to Earths almost circular ellipse. So, distance plays no role on the seasons. 2) Mass of baseball= 0.14 kg Mass of bowling ball= 7.3 kg For ex if you exert one N of force on each object you can see this: A= 1N/.14kg A= 1N/7.3kg From this you can easily see that the bowling bowl will have a lower acceleration and not go as far due to its size. This comes from Newtons 2 nd law. A=f/m 3) Why shouldnt the equation of gravity be a law? The equation of gravity should actually be a theory because it is not fully conclusive.
