STUDENT – SAYANTAN SARKARExecutive SummaryThe End of Course paper is structured to summarize all the leadership principles discussedthroughout the semester for the Organizational leadership class. The company I have chosen forthe paper is my organization, Westport Capital Partners (“WCP”). WCP is a private equity fundwith multiple investment arms and their affiliates. As discussed by J. Schaubrowck1, thefollowing characteristics are very useful to make a company successful:a.Organization leadership stylesb.The Organization culturesc.Individual employee satisfactiond.Organization strategye.Managing conflicts by the OrganizationLeadership is all about impacting a group of people and motivating them to succeed. A trueleader is someone who manages communication well, has excellent motivational strength, is verystrong in ethics and always follow a world view/ perspective. This paper explains the leadershipqualities of WCP, who have grown from a small boutique investment fund to a midsize fund withinvestment size of $3 Bn AUM in real estate and $3 Mb AUM in private equity investments. Thisis one of the primary reasons to select WCP, as it has a significant impact to US real estate, andits continuous contribution towards unconventional real estate investment.
