Condoms The form of contraceptive known as condoms have been around as early as 11,000 BC, however, it was until 1957 that condoms were used as they are today. Latex was used to make condoms during the 1920’s but it was the year 1957 that lubricated condoms were used reports Maude Team (2020). Condoms are used during sexual intercourse to help prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections/diseases.. This allowed people to engage in sex without the worry of having a child and helped prevent STI’s/STD’s. Therefore, more people were having sex.
