Still living in Eagle, WI, in 2000, we adopted our energetic, fun-loving black Labrador, Astro. He has been such a big part of my life; I cannot image my existence without him. In the summer of 2001, we moved to a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia called Alpharetta. Shortly after school started, the biggest catastrophe of my lifetime struck the twin towers of New York City: 911. I was in the second grade and remember arriving home from school to CNN reviewing the happenings of the terrible incident. On the TV, they were showing a scene of hundreds of people running from a smoking skyscraper ready to topple over at any second; ash was everywhere. 2001 was also the year I started my seven year-long soccer career. A year later, along with Marius and Cosette, I joined the Pinewalk Penquin swim team. Swimming had always been a huge part of my life, and I enjoyed learning

My favorite aspects of this age range was making new friends at my new school in Alpharetta, playing soccer, and being on the swim team. The biggest struggles and concerns I had to overcome during these ages were saying goodbye to old friends from Eagle and meeting new ones in Alpharetta. At this age range I had no idea what I wanted to be in the future. I did want to succeed in becoming a better soccer player, though. At these ages I was reaching the end of the Influential Stage and entering the second stage, Rebellion. I was still fascinated by learning new things, but I was starting to question how great and perfect my parents truly were; I no longer fully trusted them as I had before....
