SLIDE 2: HAYLEY John Pemberton, who was a pharmacist from Atlanta, founded Coca-Cola in 1886. It was originally sold at the local pharmacy for 5 cents a glass with the original marketing slogan, “Delicious and Refreshing.” His partner Frank Robinson created the now famous trademark “Coca-Cola” in his unique script. ALYSSA There first newspaper ad appeared in the Atlanta journal, inviting thirsty citizens to try “the new and popular soda fountain drink” The ads were hand painted oilcloth with the logo and the suggestion “Drink” to show that it was a beverage. Sales averaged 9 drinks per day in the first year. In 1888, Pemberton sold his remaining interest to Asa Candler Candler continued to buy additional rights until he had full control of the company. SLIDE 3: HAYLEY They are the number 1 producer of sparkling beverages, juices and juice drinks, and ready to go coffees. Number 2 producer of energy drinks Number 3 producer of sports drinks and bottled water. Coke is officially marketed and sold in over 200 countries, making them the largest beverage company worldwide Have 3,500 different beverages across 500 brands.
