University of Hohenheim Admission Regulations for the Consecutive Master’s Programs •Agricultural Sciences: Agricultural Economics, •Agricultural Sciences in the Tropics and Subtropics, •Crop Sciences, •Environmental Protection and Agricultural Food Production, •Environmental Science - Soil, Water and Biodiversity, •Landscape Ecology, and •Organic Agriculture and Food Systems Section 1 Scope of Application (1) The following provisions set down how the University allocates the university places available to it as determined by the Ministry of Science and Research’s respective ordinances for the Master’s programs Agricultural Sciences: Agricultural Economics; Agricultural Sciences in the Tropics and Subtropics; Crop Sciences; Environmental Protection and Agricultural Food Production; Environmental Science - Soil, Water and Biodiversity; Landscape Ecology; and Organic Agriculture and Food Systems. (2) Admission to the first subject-related semester is only granted for each winter semester. Section 2 Selection Quotas (1) The university places available according to Sec. 1 in the Master’s programs Agricultural Sciences: Agricultural Economics; Agricultural Sciences in the Tropics and Subtropics; Crop Sciences; Environmental Protection and Agricultural Food Production; Landscape Ecology; and Organic Agriculture and Food Systems are allocated as follows: a) 50 out of each 100 to •German applicants, •Citizens of other European Union member states, •International or stateless applicants who have a German university entrance qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung), •Children of citizens of states party to the European Economic Area Agreement that are not part of the European Union if these citizens are or were employed in Germany and the children currently live in Germany, and b) 50 out of each 100 to other international applicants. (2) For each of these two quotas, separate ranking lists are created. Any university places remaining in a quota are allocated to the other quota. (3) Sec. 2(1) and (2) do not apply for the Master’s Program in Environmental Science - Soil, Water and Biodiversity. Section 3 Deadline and Form (1) The application for admission is to be sent electronically to the University of Hohenheim using the University of Hohenheim’s internet site (online application) according to requirements stated there and with the required documents by the application deadline according to Sec. 3(2-4). The University of Hohenheim can waive the requirement for an online application and accept a written application upon request to avoid undue hardship. Applications for admission to the Master’s program Environmental Science - Soil, Water and Biodiversity are to be sent to the University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Life Sciences, Copenhagen, Denmark.
