Fairtrade International DelegationNew ‘Strategic Plan’ By Fairtrade InternationalIt is almost one year since the first case of the novel coronavirus, later named Covid-19was discovered in China. The virus that became a global pandemic has affected almost all sectorsof normal operation with economics being the most affected over the last one year. Both localand international trade has suffered imaginable loss due to the outbreak of the virus. Despite thechallenges, life had to continue so as to business activities. In efforts to strengthen internationaltrade, on 23rdof November 2020, a fair trade international delegation met with Pope Franciswhere array of the activities undertaken by the delegation around the globe to support andpromote fair trade among nations during the times of Covid-19. The delegation of five members’states representatives from Luxembourg, Germany, Kenya, Mexico and Italy presented the fiveyear global strategy and demonstrated the plans of the Fairtrade on achieving environmental andsocial justice for most of the world’s vulnerable populations[ CITATION Fai20 \l 1033 ]. Though the world’s economy is reprieving though at slower rate, countries and tradeblocks are revising the terms of trades with new strategies to revamp agriculture and trade amidstthe Covid-19 pandemic with the aim of supporting the developing countries overcome tougheconomic times.
