Elliot Marshall New Testament 120 Section 10 Williams-Tinajero 1 John John starts by saying everyone sins and you have to admit that you sin. He says not to hate another believer and not to love the desires of the world or flesh. We now know Christ so we should be like him so when he comes we can be pure. He talks a lot about believing in Jesus and anyone who doesn’t is from the devil. Everyone who loves is from god and everyone who doesn’t is not from god. Jesus came by water and blood and the Spirit agrees. It is hard to follow what John is saying about being born of god, sin, and the mortality of sin. I thought it was interesting how Brown talks about how when John says that hatred is a form of murder and we should help our brothers and sisters John was talking to the wealthy community to try to get them equated with the world. 2 John The Second Letter of John is very short. John writes to live in the commandments, which is love. He says there are many deceivers around who deny that
