Specific Learning Target(s)/Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to read a story and check their predictions made from a tennis vocabulary game, retell the story and compare it with a partner, scan the text for a specific word. Academic Language Sun, sand, clouds, beach house, fishing boats, water, men, nets, sea, imaginary, stone, shells, throw, playground, rug.
Resources, Materials, Equipment, and Technology: The story, flashcards, whiteboard, crayons. Section 2: Instructional Planning Anticipatory Set Teacher will tell the students that today they are going to read a story about the beach, ask the students to take a minute to guess the story, each student will share his guessing with his partner. Vocabulary Brainstorm, T divides Ss into two teams and writes the word Beach on WB then asks each team to give a word that’s related to the word Beach, teams take turns saying words until one team can’t think of a word , the other team is the winner . T adds any other words from the story that Ss may not have suggested themselves. Time Needed 7 min Multiple Means of Representation I will model one example on the white board before asking the students to suggest related vocabulary.
