Unformatted text preview: Sami Prehn Transition to College Leibensperger September 3, 2007 Civility Reflection One of my friends at home, named Marina, is the quintessential example of civility. Every single one of my friends confides in her and she never tells anyone else all of the secrets she knows. She listens very well and is always trying to help us. She helps her friends because she provides a way for us to talk about what is stressing us out. She also is very polite and never makes fun of anyone. Whenever I am joking around with her, or making fun of her in a light-hearted way she will laugh about it, but never poke fun back at anyone else. She cares about her friends and her family more than she cares about herself. This is really nice for the people around her but sometimes she does overdo it and needs to focus on herself a little bit more. I think she will benefit because, as the reading shows, people who care about others a lot have very good health. I am sure she gets the benefits of endorphins from “helper’s high” because have very good health....
