ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE FINALPROJECT WEEK 92Environmental Science Final Project week 9Energy consumption is all around us, and it is almost physically impossible to go through the daywithout using some type of fossil fuel. Energy conservation can mean different things todifferent people. To me, energy conservation does mean I have to cut back on things I use tomake my day easier. It means I need to cut back on the amount of emissions I produce. We canreduce the amount of emissions we produce, by seeking out renewable sources of energy. Forinstance, during the winter, we can burn wood instead of coal, one of the other fossil fuels.Another option to reduce our emissions is to use solar power, wind power or water power, whichall cause less pollution when powering our devices. There are two types energy, which includes renewable and non-renewable. Renewable energycomes from solar power, wind power, water power and even plant life can produce energy.Renewable is much safer for our environment because it burns cleaner, and we do not have to getto it. The biggest issue with renewable energy is that it can cost a lot of money to install thesesystems. However, these systems pay for their self after some time. Non-renewable energycomes from the decomposition of fossilized materials hence the name fossil fuels. Someexamples of non-renewable energy are coal, oil, natural gases and nuclear power. Non-renewableenergy can cause many problems for our environment, such as pollution into the air, whichcauses greenhouse gases and pollution in the water that destroys our sea life. Other issues arehealth problems, population growth and the reshaping of the land from digging and drilling.Description of the problemThe main problem with energy conservation is the fact that we are using too many fossil fuels. These energy sources can be very toxic if not burned at the correct temperature. This would
