September 25, 2007 Causes of French and Indian war Washington is sent to French to tell them to move out of English territory near the  Ohio River Valley Fort Duquesne (ducain)  Fort Necessity attacked july 1754 Washington built   Fort helped give him claim to land  Also helped with exposure 600 french +allies attack  1/3 of Washington men die causing him to surrender 1754-1756 french and American fight territory next to Pennsylvania Native Americans support French because French treat Na like equals and  trading partners By 1755 the English settlers had been pushed to the eastern side of the  mountains 1756 war changes it expands and becomes a global European war 1756 7 years war begins because of the spread of the fighting of the French and  Indian war start fighting in India and then Europe 1757 william pitt English sec of state eventually prime minister(1756)
