America is the country of new opportunities. It is the country that people go to in order to start fresh. Why should anyone who gets a chance to live in such an amazing place not support it? This question is not only on my mind but also on the minds of some of the country’s best leaders. Theodore Roosevelt once wrote, “All of us, no matter from what land our parent’s came, no matter in what way we worship our Creator, must stand shoulder to shoulder in a united America for the elimination of race and religious prejudice.” I believe that he was right on the money. As a nation, America is very prosperous but, it was not always that way. When America was first founded people had to work together in regardless of their country of origin. They fought together in wars; they helped one another rebuild as a nation. I do not think that any of those brave citizens called themselves British-Americans or German-Americans or Spanish-Americans. They set aside their differences in order to make this country great. Furthermore, by calling themselves “something”- Americans they are denying America as their
