Pierre Bourdieu: interested in how it is that class get reproduced in society, and he thinks that it has something to do with culture. Culture-Class Nexus. Argues that culture is one important way in which a class system is able to reproduce itself. Little things reveal your “habitus”. o Social Closure: any way groups try to maintain exclusive control over resources, limiting access to them o Cultural capital: ease and familiarity with “highbrow” culture (symbolic and interactional resources) o Habitus: set of dispositions (likes and dislikes) inscribed in the body
