Moral Problems – Professor Speetzen 2/29/2012 Argument analysis – Wilson against homosexuality In this argument, Wilson is analyzing and countering the writings of Sullivan on homosexuality. Sullivan believes that homosexuality is morally permissible and Wilson counters three main arguments that Sullivan puts forth. The argument that I focused on was Sullivan’s and Wilson’s thoughts on the conservative argument regarding the natural law theory. Sullivan states that because homosexuals aren’t allowed to marry and procreate, this forecloses marriage between sterile heterosexual couples, contraception, masturbation, sodomy, etc. that many people would not want to see banned. If marriage is the final step to procreation and the people entering into a marriage cannot bear children, they should not be allowed to marry.
