Melissa Wilkerson Enc1101-102 Ron Smith August 10, 2007 We Are Not God “To accept passively an unjust system is to cooperate with that system.”  King Jr.(P.3) Martin Luther King Jr. was right when he wrote this quote. When  we just lie down and comply we are letting our oppressors win. We need to  stand up and do what is right, and we need to do it without violence. “Violence  as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral.” King Jr.  (P.7) Dr. King Jr. is right here also. We cannot hurt each other as a way to win  our battles. We are not God. We cannot smite people for doing something  wrong.   However, Scott Simon says, “It seems confrontation is the only way…”  Simon (P.9) He is right in some situations. If people do not
