MGMT 325 – Organizational Dynamics October 19, 2012 Extra Credit Essay – Will Oberton Enjoying life is something that everyone wants to achieve. Attempting to do that, however, can be quite difficult. Will Oberton believes that there are five key areas that one needs to master to achieve this goal. In his presentation he laid these areas out for us: prioritization, compromise, balance, effectiveness, and appointed time. If one can get a tight hold onto these five areas, you can live healthily and happily between work and personal life. Firstly, Mr. Oberton talked about how he has gotten to where he is at today. He started with Fastenal in 1980 working full-time in the warehouse, at which time the company was only worth $19 million with about 250 employees, 80 stores, and only sold in the US. Over the years Oberton worked his way up the chain of command, eventually made his way to CEO of the company in 2002. He has made decisions that have helped Fastenal become the $3.2 billion company that it is today, now operating in 16 countries

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
