The Electoral College The Electoral College This is a group of voters or electors that is created every fours four purpose of selecting the Presidential and Vice President (Josephson, 2018). In essence, the electoral college is an indirect election where all voters participate in the selecting a President and the Vice President (Whitman, 2020).
Why the Electoral College? Why the Electoral College? During the 1787 Constitutional Convention, the contentious issue was on how to elect the President. There were two opposing sides; Federalist (argued that Congress to be electing the President) and then there were those in favour of the popular vote ( Elving, 2016) . The electoral college was agreed on as a comprise between the two opposing sides.
