Characteristics of a Source of EMF Abstract : For the laboratory experiment conducted on October 26 th titled, The Characteristics of a Source of EMF , the participant gained the knowledge of the typical performance that a seat of electromotive force (emf) conducts. The determination of the terminal voltage on the internal resistance, and current, of the emf and the condition for its maximum power output will be calculated with the proper applicable equations and found when internal and external resistance are equal to one another. We found that at maximum power output, the terminal voltage measured 1.46V and with a current of 28.8 mA, resulting in the value of 0.0432 Watts. The accuracy of our datum was verified when compared to the experimental calculated value of 0.0415W which resulted in the percent discrepancy of 4.01%. When maximum power output is achieved the terminal voltage 1.50V is put over the emf which calculated to be 2.88V, exhibited the results of 0.521 or 4.2% off half its emf.
