The reason for this paper is to talk about two audit exercises with the upmost respect to the Apple Company. It will begin with the introduction of the company, their mission and top management and technology innovation goals. The audit exercises come from the end of chapter 1 and Appendix 1 of the textbook. The very first audit exercise describes the assessing of the company’s M.T.I capabilities with strategy, while the other involves assessing sustainability and making an evaluation of the responsibility of company’s stakeholders, the technology and innovation responsibility of the company, even as the bottom lines.•Assessing sustainability, CSR, and EthicsThe first audit exercise is in regards to the managers of the company having a better view of Apple’s capabilities, according to White (2011), are portrayed by characteristics that this company owns to ease and supply a more better support of a company’s strategy. The categories describe: availability and allocation of resources, the ability to have better comprehension of strategies adopted by the competitors as well as the evolution of the industry with regards to innovation, the ability to acknowledge technological advancement that relates to the activity of the company, the structural and cultural environment of the business unit that impacts internal entrepreneurship, and the tactical ability to manage innovation initiatives by these internal entrepreneurs. Further in the paper, it will address the type of information that is needed in every category that was mentioned to determine the area, the time, and the technology to undertake for the company. Category one describes the determination of the availability and allocation of resources to manage technology and innovation. This business has huge resources and the
fact of the matter is that it is outsourcing a few of its production is a important budget saver. Maybe the product where the investments are the largest is the Iphone as the business has to be the market leader in the manufacturing of smart phones with this device. The company has the skills to deliver more devices such as this to reduce the size of the package of Iphone model from 2010 versus the model from 2007. As stated by Apple (2012), by reducing the Iphone package by 42%, the company is able to ship 80% more boxes in each airline shipping container. Meaning that the company is saving more resources due to them using less material to produce the packages, and the package uses fewer spaces when it is shipped. The company pollutes less per package manufacturing as the package’s size decreases. The very same clever strategy can also be applied to the production of the company’s other devices and products.
