Announcements Assignment 4 is due Monday, February 18. Midterm 2 is Tuesday, February 19, 7:30- 8:50 p.m. Locations are the same as Midterm 1. Material covered will be through Lesson 13, emphasizing Lessons 9-13. For this exam, you may bring one 8.5 x 11-inch one-sided, handwritten page of notes. See syllabus for more details.

Finding Probabilities for Normal Random Variables You need to know the mean μ x and standard deviation σ x in order to determine the density curve. Draw a picture of the density curve. Label the x-axis. On the x-axis, find the interval or intervals in which you are interested. Shade the area under the curve corresponding to the intervals. Convert the probability statement in terms of X to a probability statement in terms of standard normal Z by finding z-statistics (or z-scores). Use Table Z or Minitab to find probability.
