You may bring your copy of the case study to the exam, but it should not have any writing on it. Chapter 5: Systems Theory, Equivocality, and Sense Making 1. You should be able to define the various principles/concepts as defined in systems theory and provide examples. 2. You should be able to discuss the role of environment in systems theory. 3. You should be able to define equivocality. 4. You should be able to define the types of scripts and their relationship to sense making and equivocality. Chapter 6: Culture 1. You should be able to explain the different ways that a traditionalist, interpretivist and critical scholar would look at organizational culture. 2. You should be able to define the three different lenses for viewing an organization’s culture (integrated, differentiated, and fragmented).
