1 Sociology 112 14 February 2006 Technology Drives Culture Technology has been apart of the world since humans walked the Earth. Technologies have evolved since the beginning of time. Currently technologies change everyday. Technology drives culture, there are many examples of the ways technology has driven culture such as transportation, the telephone, and Internet. One of the first inventions was the wheel. With the invention of the wheel transportations were invented beginning with carts and buggies pulled by horses, technologies then evolved and cars and trains were invented. From the inventions of transportations, people were able to travel farther distances in faster amounts of time. Before the invention of the wheel people did not travel far, they lived in communities close together where everything the needed was in short distances from their homes. After the invention of the wheel and transportations, people were able to travel and move and farther distances. Cultures began to change as family members began to move away
