MGNT Job incumbent: the major advantage is their familiarity with tasks, KSAOs, and job context. Supervisors: considered excellent sources of job information. They not only supervise the employees performing the job to be analyzed but also have played a major role in defining it and later in adding/deleting jobs. Subject matter experts: often the sources previously mentioned are called subject matter experts (SMEs). Other individuals may also be used as SMEs (e.g., previous jobholders, private consultants, etc.). Whatever the sources of the SMEs, a common requirement is that they have recent, firsthand knowledge of the job being Key issues in the construction and operation of the job analysis process: o Purpose: the purpose(s) of job analysis should be clearly identified and agreed on. o Scope: decision on which job(s) to include in the job analysis. o Internal staff or consultant:

Roles and relationships of all involved must be clearly defined. o Communication: clear and open communication with all concerned. o Work flow and time frame: Project manager should develop and adhere to a work flowchart.
