Chapter 1: 1) Who is the author? Who was sent to John? The author of Revelation is John. An angel was sent to John. 2) How many churches were written to by John? There were seven churches written to by John. 3) What is John commanded to write? He was commanded to write a school based on what he saw and send it to the seven churches. Chapters 2-3: 4) Seven churches are addressed in these two chapters. Write down the church being addressed, the warning to each church, and the reward for those who are overcomers/conquers. 1. Ephesus- The warning was their forsaken first love and their reward was the right to eat. 2. Smyrna- The warning was that some of them would be put in prison, the reward was not be hurt at all by second death. 3. Pergamum- The warning was that they need to repent, and their reward was that the conquerors would get some of the hidden mamma. 4. Thyatira- The warning was that they need to repent from Jezebel, their reward was authority over the nations. 5. Sandis- The Church of Sandis was also told to repent, if they did their name would not be blotted out of the Book of Life. 6. Philadelphia- The Church of Philadelphia was told to hold on to what they have, if they did so they would have a pillar in the temple of God. 7. Laodicea- The Church of Laodicea was told to be earnest and repent, if they did they would be given the right to sit with God on His throne. Chapter 4: 5) Who were seated on the 24 thrones, and how are they described? There were 24 elders seated on the 24 thrones dressed in white with crowns of gold on their heads. 6) What do the seven torches of fire represent? The seven torches of fire represent the seven spirits of God.
