He also talks about the law he stands multiple times. 2. Skip 3. He addresses them on line 9 and says that they are not slaves and they are protected. 4. Skip 5. He does this to give more support to the points he made. “We fought as a country for independence yet we are oppressing others”. He gives the people inspiration. 6. I would defend Kaplan’s position because Abraham Lincoln ended up being a really good President. He was not persuasive and instead just gave his points by stating facts.
