The Oxford English Dictionary defines language as “the means of human communication, consisting of the use of spoken or written words in a structure way.” So language in a relationship between two people could most likely be described as “the communication between two people using spoken or written words and phrases in a way that makes sense only to those in the relationship”. When I was young, my friends and I had a saying we would use instead of cursing. We would say “son of a biscuit”. Anytime we would feel the need to curse or say something that could be offense we would say “son of a biscuit”. This saying turned out to be very effective in school and around the house since it was a way for us to avoid cursing and for a while no one seem to mind us using it. Eventually, people caught on to what we were doing and started to get offended by it so we had to stop saying it. If I could change things I would probably tried to stop us from over using our special phrase.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
