Writing Assignment 3 Te Debate over Immigration Laws Is the current Immigration Bill economically sound? Much of the debate surrounding this bill is that it is an inadequate bill in need of a momentous modification. Edwin Meese claims that this is due to the fact that the entirety of the bill was drafted outside of public debate, and with no assistance from professionals in related fields. “It was created behind closed doors and shortly there after presented to the senate… there are lots of reasons why this bill could potentially make present circumstances worse rather then improving the situation.” Another main argument against this bill is that it may well consequence in a enticement for illegal immigrants to come into the United States. All that they would need to have to attain a temporary probationary legal status in our country is some basic paper work and a 24 hour wait period. After being issued this easily attained legal status these migrant workers could no longer be deported. The question now lies on the effect that this visa may have on our national
