1. A two-part question: First, out of the readings and spoken word video clips assigned, which resonated the most for you? Put another way, which of these folks do you feel you’d have the easiest time building rapport? Why? Second, out of the texts and videos assigned, which did you have the hardest time connecting with? (Who do you feel you’d have the hardest time building rapport with?) Why? Our readings this week were inspiring and truly opened up new perspectives of the different types of oppression. It’s vital to understand how oppression affects each and every individual because no two stories will be the same; oppression and privilege come in different packages, not just in terms of one or the other. That being said, it’s hard to pick whether the readings or the videos resonated most for me. Both revealed great awareness of the issue; the videos were inspiring because the poets gave such insight in only a few minutes whereas the readings required elaboration and articulation of thoughts over a course of many pages.
