Relationship Strategies2Basic Interpersonal Strategies for RelationshipsIn my research and from my own experiences in relationships, I will try to showyou how to define this paper.The thesis of this paper is to define emotional intelligenceand its role in effective interpersonal relationships.I will show how to develop strategiesfor active, critical, and empathic listening and to evaluate the appropriate levels of self-disclosure in relationships.The elements for good relationship include an understandingand the ability to get along well with others.It also includes how well your listeningskills are and has a strong moral dimension such as empathy.It all starts in you being thearchitect in making up the blueprints for a new house or for a good relationship.Youhave to have all the materials for it to work properly.First, you have to plan your budget,which is the Attraction.Next, choose your land or the Beginning Conversations, Line upyour team or the Emotional Intelligence, pick a plan or choose how much Self-disclosureto let out and finally negotiating the contract in detail are the Essential Elements thatmaintain a relationship.Both parties have to give a two hundred and fifty percent effortfor the blueprints of a good relationship to work properly.In conclusion, how to build asolid foundation and relationship is like building a house.You need to develop a good listening strategy to go along with the blueprint.Being a good listener involves being active, critical and empathic.Active listening ismaking a mental outline involving the important parts of the central idea of theconversation. ( Hybels & Weaver , 2007 pg 92)Look for similarities and differences thatrelate to your own experiences and try to predict what will come next by asking questions
Relationship Strategies3them with questions and ideas.It allows you to access the message and reorganize yourown biases in messages that are unheard.You must have the ability to recognize factfrom fiction, where you can verify a fact and fiction is only an opinion or belief.The laststrategy is the empathic listening, which contains three parts to it.First, identify theemotion.You have to be patient and really listen to what the other person is saying.After you have listened to the whole story start paraphrasing that is restarting or restatingwhat the other person has just said to you in your own words.This has helped me tobetter understand what the other person is saying and not be so quick to jump toconclusions in a conversational story.In my experience, this has helped me to be more
