Danielle Frakes Mr. Luke Redington March 22, 2008 11:30 MWF In “You wanna take this online?” by Jeff Chu, he discusses the effects cyber bullying as on children. In the article, Chu gives points to support his reasoning, but they are not points that persuade the reader. Although cyber bullying is an issue with children, it is not as important as other issues that go on in a child’s life. A vulnerable sentence in Chu’s essay is when he discusses the percentages of children who bully online. In the essay, Chu wrote, “18% of 3,700 middle schoolers researched at Clemson University.” Also in the paragraph, “21% of eighth-graders surveyed reported being cyber bullied recently.” These statistics “cast doubt on the representativeness or sufficiency of examples.” The sample survey was not big enough nor diverse enough to sample the country as a whole. According to census.gov, there are 303 million people in the United States, which shows that the sample is so small that that number of middle schoolers is only a small portion of the middle schoolers nationwide.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
