Maintenance and engineering work together in an MRO organization as they are responsible for all maintenance and servicing work on aircraft and any engineering activities related to the maintenance (Kinnison & Siddiqui, 2012, p. 389). The M&E department is also crucial in the basic structure of the organization. They are responsible for activities such as training, maintenance control centre, computing, and publications in an organization. Although they are both trained differently, it takes both disciplines to run an effective engineering operation at an MRO organization (Kinnison & Siddiqui, 2012, p. 162). Maintenance is the process of ensuring that a system continually performsits intended function at its designed-in level of reliability and safety (Kinnison & Siddiqui, 2012, p. 75). Whereas the engineering work is done by engineers where they perform most of the research, development, design, and testing work. The function of an engineer includes directing and coordinating activities of engineering or technical personnel designing, fabricating, modifying, or testing of aircraft or aerospace products ("Aviation Mro Engineer Jobs, Employment", 2019), using of computer-aided design (CAD) software to create engineering drawings as well as simulation models. Although they tend to work ‘behind-the-scenes’
