Why is it important to practice healthy, effective vocal work in our everyday lives and not just in our professional lives? How does stress affect us both physically and vocally? Give specific examples. Then present an example of how the relaxation exercises done in class this semester can benefit not only in the theatrical arena, but also in everyday life. We use our voices practically every single day. We us our voice more in our everyday lives that I our professional lives. So why should we only practice healthy vocal techniques in our professional lives but not in our everyday lives? Speaking unhealthy on a regular everyday basis will definitely affect how we sound when the time comes from one to use his/her voice in a professional setting. It is very important for use to speak endeavor to speak healthily in our everyday life because by doing this we develop good habits that stick with us and that we begin to practice unconsciously. Your body naturally knows how to respond to stress by putting some muscles and other parts of the body to work. But when the body constantly has to work to respond to stress, the body as a whole becomes physically weak. The stress also affects our body in the sense that the muscles that are supposed to be at work to provide breath support become fatigued due to the stress and so they cannot provide adequate support for the breath. For example, a high school teacher who yells at his student constantly put his body his stress on a regular basis. His muscles, especially those in his throat get more and more weak as
