Behavior change project: paper guidelines There is no heading for the introduction. In the introduction you introduce the reader to your paper –enticing them to read it. You need to tell them the question you are asking - generally does x intervention change behavior y. You do not need to justify why you selected the behavior to change, although for behaviors that do not obviously need changing, an explanation can be informative. You need to define the technical terms you will use in the paper. You need do no library research – you do not need to review the literature supporting your intervention. The textbook and the chapters by Mallott in the ‘program’ folder are all the ‘library’ research you need to do. You need to make the case, based on the textbook and Mallott, that your intervention should change your target behavior. Methods Participant: The method section has a centered heading as above. Methods – this is divided into subject, apparatus and procedure each in a separate paragraph. The subject is you – what essential things about you do the readers need to know to see whether the result you obtained might be relevant to their situation? Apparatus: In the apparatus identify any tools or other things, like reinforcers, or stimuli that you used. You do not need to say when you delivered the reinforcer (that is the procedure) you need to tell the reader that these ‘things’ were used in the project. Focus on those things you used in the behavior change part of the experiment – not in writing up the project or analyzing the data.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
