General Purpose: To persuade Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience to join a Greek organization during their time at Purdue University. Thesis: I would like to urge all of you to consider joining a Greek organization during you time at Purdue. Introduction: A. Attention Getter: I’m a loser. It’s true. I’ve lived in Lafayette my entire life and here I am in Lafayette for college. I moved across the river…wooo big step don’t you think. I mean half of my high school came to Purdue, but somehow every Friday and Saturday night last semester I found myself sitting in my buddies room trying to figure out what to do. We would think about seeing a movie, but then decide two good looking guys like us seeing a movie together on a Friday night might seem a little a strange. Then we would think about getting a case of beer, but neither of us is 21. Somehow we would end up playing Mario Kart 64 until 12:30, order some cheese stix and call it a night, but this semester everything changed. B. Relevance: As college students you all need a place to live, a place to have fun, and of course you need friends. In a Greek organization you can get all of this. C. Credibility: This semester I am pledging at Delta Upsilon fraternity and having a blast. D. Thesis: So, I would like to urge all of you to consider joining a Greek organization during you time at Purdue. Transition:
