Benitez 1 Crazy Funny The Dark Sonnets of a Lady was a very interesting and intriguing play. What made me even more interested was that it was actually one of Freud’s cases in real life. The play was very humorous at times and that was what allowed me to become connected to it. What put me off was that all the characters were on stage at the same time, and I sort of understand the reasoning behind it, but it really didn’t allow me to focus on the plot when there was action outside of the main action. Beyond this, I was still thoroughly happy with this production. Even though the main focus was on Dora and Freud, the character I connected with the most was the mother. The mother was the comic relief during the play; she is obsessively cleaning everything and everyone throughout, and unfortunately not one smart cookie. You must be wondering why I would connect with her, well it’s because she reminds me of my mother. However, not to that extreme of lack of smarts and well actually she is quite obsessive with her cleaning. So every time the mother had some
