1 Professor Daniel Wakefield CIS101 Unit 8 December 14, 2020 Working with Data After having watched the Working with Data tutorials I gather that Excel is a lot easier to learn and is meant to be used by a lot of people whereas Access can become quite complicated needing some background in programming to fully utilize the system software itself. Excel is a spreadsheet application used for paperwork to arrange, collate, and tabulate data more efficiently for things like printing and presentations. It’s an office staple that enables you to add, import, and export data in addition to custom functions that allow you to analyze and manipulate data using graphs or charts. Excel is not as intricate as Access and even the most advanced controls are not as laborious with a steep learning curve. Access is a Relational Database Management Software (RDBMS) that allows you to manage much larger amounts of data in a system. You can create stored data queries, forms, and tables that are related to one another and access them later. The
