John Rankin Soc 101.02 11/14/05 100 Ways to Please Your Man…and None for You Each month at the news stands women are bombarded with magazine covers claiming to have the secret to a better figure or a better love life or the secret to eternal youth. These periodicals understand that stories covering beauty and sex will help sell their magazine. Over time, pressure is on the writers to come up with new material following the same old guidelines regarding what sells. With so many magazines running so many issues each it is no doubt that some of the life changing information offered is conflicting and therefore useless. By selecting five of the top selling women’s image magazines and analyzing their advice and content over a two year span we may find the inconsistencies offered to readers on the topics of sex, beauty, and general happiness. In a world where image is scrutinized and regarded with the utmost importance, inaccurate or conflicting information is devastating. So many people follow what these publications tell them in regards to how to act and how to look and even how to have sex.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
