In the Hubble Deep Field, what color (B-G) are elliptical galaxies compared to spiral galaxies.
Background image of page 2
The Hubble Deep Field is a image of a small region about 15 arc seconds across located in the constellation Ursa Major and has about 3000 galaxies in it. Galaxies are classified by the shape the take. Ellipticals are smooth featureless and range in shape from nearly spherical to highly flattened. Spirals are known for having arms circling around their center bulge giving them their spiral shape.
