After receiving an invitation to Banquo’s funeral andhearing about possible suspicions about his murder, Macbeth and Lady Macbethneeded to act fast and cover the guilt they weredismissing.The Macbeth’s were discussing the people’s suspicions privately, prior todinner. Having caught word of rumors that Macbeth killed Banquo was unsettling forboth of them.Furthermore, they knew that showing up to the funeral would causepeople to talk,but not showing up would lead all the guests to believe theconspiracies and want revenge for what they believed was a murder.
