To some, learning is constant repetition, while for others, it is slow but steady studying. For this prompt, we will discuss the difference between short and long-term memory, the advantages and disadvantages of using certain study strategies, and overall, determine the best studying methods. Professionals would recommend using long-term memory to study because long-term memory is a storage system that allows one to retain information for long periods of time (Nevid, 2018). When utilizing long-term memory, most often the information one studies may remain for a lifetime.
