Know what Expressed sequence tags (ESTs) are used for. a. process of taking mRNA and using reverse transcriptase to produce DNA. b. used to find out what genes are being expressed in a particular cell type. 4. Know where the codon and anticodon are located. a. codon is in the mRNA b. anticodon is in the tRNA 5. Know what the codon is and the redundancy in amino acid coding. a. 3 based pairs that code for an amino acid b. the first two base pairs dictate the amino acid. The third can fluctuate and still give the same amino acid. 6. Know what exons and introns are and what they are used for.
